Our way of working

Locksmithing has its own language, full of cylinders, pins, cams and strikes, and none of it helps you make a decision. So we translate. When we say a lock needs rekeying, we explain that the inside gets new pins so the old keys stop working while the outside stays the same.

When we recommend a different deadbolt, we show you the difference in your hand. Questions are welcome at every stage, and there are no silly ones. The aim is that you can explain to a partner or a landlord exactly what was done and why, in your own words, without needing us on the phone to fill in the gaps.

Locks, keys and doors, done properly.

Plenty of people call us slightly embarrassed, as if losing a key or snapping one in the cold were a personal failing. It is not; brass wears, pockets have holes, and locks age. We would much rather you tell us exactly what happened, including the bit where you tried a screwdriver, because the true story tells us which tools to bring and how to put it right.

The key you reach for. The door you come home to. Good locksmith work begins with understanding how you use them.

  • No surprises on the doorstep. What we described on the phone is what we plan to do. If the door tells us something different when we see it, we stop and talk before going further.
  • Helping you choose well. Hardware ranges from basic to heavy-duty and simple to electronic. We explain the differences that actually matter for your door and leave the choice with you.
  • Neat work, neatly finished. Holes drilled cleanly, hardware aligned, nothing crooked or forced. A lock should look like it belongs on the door, and we take the time to make sure it does.

How a visit goes

Describe the property, the hardware and what has changed, and the visit starts from what you have seen.

    Walking the door with you

We look at the cylinder, the bolt, the strike, the hinges and any glass nearby, and say plainly which parts are sound and which are thin.

  2. Illustration: the van outside the house, a photo ID card by the front door, then the options laid out and one chosen

    Choosing the level together

A graded deadbolt with a patented cylinder for most homes, rated cylinders and heavier lock bodies for businesses. You pick the doors and the depth.

    Fitting, keying and registering

Cylinders go in, strikes are screwed into the framing, keys are cut from code, and the system is registered so only you can order more.
